The Dealer Initiatives Director of Training & Development will be a critical member of the Edmunds team with primary responsibility for managing the design, implementation, and evaluation of sales training programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of our direct sales force including product and industry knowledge, selling skills, and sales management training.  We believe strongly in the player/coach approach, meaning the Dealer Initiatives Director of Training & Development must have a strong track record of successfully working with dealers as well as training and coaching personnel. Edmunds is a well-respected brand in the automotive space and each person representing our brand needs to be prepared at all times and uphold high standards.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and manage a training strategy that ensures the Edmunds direct sales force is the most knowledgeable digital marketing consultants in the automotive industry
  • Actively coach and train all Edmunds direct sales team members, including classroom and in-dealership sessions, online webinars, video, blogs, and in-field ride-alongs
  • Design training curriculum and develop effective and professional training materials
  • Perform territory assessments to ensure that Area Managers are assimilating new knowledge and selling skills, and provide immediate and direct feedback to improve their performance
  • Communicate with Regional Manager(s) about training needs and the performance of individual Area Managers
  • Continuously develop our team members and contribute to their success
  • Act as a spokesperson for Edmunds at trade events and other speaking opportunities
  • Position requires 50% out of town travel

What you’ll need:

  • 7+ years of experience in a sales training capacity with a proven track record of success
  • Automotive industry experience required
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to coach and motivate others to achieve individual and corporate goals
  • Ability to speak and write with excellent English grammar, spelling, enunciation, organization of thought, conciseness and clarity of expression sufficient to communicate complex concepts
  • Proximity to Los Angeles, CA/Southern California, preferred; will consider non-local, OUTSTANDING applicants
